Q. What is Open Box?

Open box items are items that have been either:

  • Purchased and returned by a customer
  • Had the box damaged in shipping
Q. Are they tested?

All open box items are tested using Apple’s diagnostic tests, the same tests that we run when you bring in a computer for repair. They are also restored to factory settings.

Q. What is the warranty on these items?
  • All Open Box items carry Apple’s standard warranty, just like new items. Apple warranties all their products for 1 year.
  • Most Open Box items are eligible to add on AppleCare+.
Q. What about items that can’t get AppleCare+?

For items that cannot get AppleCare+, we offer Safeware, a similar extended warranty.

Q. What is the return policy for Open Box items?

The return policy is the same as for regular items. You can view our return policy here.

Q. How is Previous Generation different from Open Box?

Items listed as Previous Generation on our Specials page are not Open Box. They are factory sealed and have never been opened.
